Welcome to the CRO-GRID Infrastructure Project website. At this website, you will find all information about the project, project participants and project status.
Project CRO-GRID Infrastructure is a constituent part of the polyproject CRO-GRID, and in association with other projects: "CRO-GRID Mediator System" and "CRO-GRID Applications" it will give complete results.
The main purpose of the Project CRO-GRID Infrastructure is building a computing infrastructure based on GRID technology, which creates the required basis for other CRO-GRID projects.

June 12, 2006. SRCE CA accepted into EUGridPMA
New founded Certificate Authority – CA in Srce, called SRCE CA has been accepted into EUGridPMA, on July 12 2006.
SRCE CA was founded to issue digital certificates for the Croatian academic and scientific community. Although primarily intended for the participants and resources of the grid projects CRO-GRID and EGEE, certificates issued by SRCE CA may be used for data encription, users authentication or electronic signatures.
May 31, 2006. SRCE CA accepted into repository TERENA TACAR
New founded Certificate Authority – CA in Srce, called SRCE CA has been accepted into the repository of Certificate Autorities TERENA TACAR.
SRCE CA was founded to issue digital certificates for the Croatian academic and scientific community, primarily for the participants and resources of the grid project CRO-GRID and EGEE. Recognition of SRCE CA by the international repository (TACAR) and other institutions responible for definitions of standards and rules for certificates, such as EUGridPMA, is extremely important. The users of SRCE CA can now use certificates in order to access not only local but also international resources.
TERENA is an association of European academic and research networks. TERENA TACAR (TERENA Academic CA Repository) is a repository of relevant information on CA. The project was launched in 2003 with the aim of creating the repository of CAs which issue certificates to academic, research and other non profit organizations. The idea behind the founding of such a repository is to build a unique site where the validity of a certificate can be verified. The list of CAs is available at: https://www.tacar.org/certs.html.

May 29, 2006. The second meeting of EGEE II Central European Federation held
On Friday, May 26 2006 in Opatija, the second meeting of EGEE II Central European Federation was held. Twenty-six representatives of different institutions from 7 Central European countries (Poland, Czeck Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia) which participate in EGEE II project were present.
On behalf of the Croatian institutions, currently chairing country of CE federation, experts from Srce and IRB were present, who participate in EGEE II project within CRO-GRID JRU.
Mr. Ivan Mariæ, deputy director of Srce, EGEE II coordinator of CRO-GRID JRU and currenrt President of CE Federation was chairing the meeting.
An intense discussion on the project activities was held in which partners from CE federation participate in EGEE II:
- SA1 - Grid operations, within which a report on a successful installation of EGEE II in Srce was written
- SA2 - Networking operations, within which the work of Srce was presented as the only CE federation partner in this activity.
- NA2 - Dissemination and outreach, within which the colleagues from IRB pointed to GridVision concept
- NA3 - Training and education, with an overview on training activities in the following period
- NA4 - Application, with an overview of current applications in CE federation.

May 8, 2006. Srce at WinDays 2006 conference
Upon the invitation of Microsoft Croatia, Srce experts participated at the annual WinDays 2006 conference in Opatija.
Srce presented Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 (CCS) technology. Besides presentations the installation of Windows CCS-on three HP Blade servers in Opatija was done. The presentations have been held within Windays Network program and on behalf of the academic community within Academic Day program. Additionally according to the agreement with Mr.Sven Hölbling (SPAN), the demonstration of the basic functionalities of CCS was held together with Sven's presentation on Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003.
Windows CCS is a Microsoft platform for High Performance Computing – HPC. Windows CCS enables simple installation and management of computing cluster based on the operational system Windows Server 2003. It provides its users with an interface for performing parallel applications on the cluster and debugging tools for parallel applications within development environment Visual Studio 2005.
